Open Letter To Peapod and Stop & Shop
I'm not as ecocentric as my husband but...I did send this letter off to Peapod Customer Care (Peapod is Stop & Shops home grocery delivery program)
Dear Peapod Customer Care:
I just received my most recent Peapod order and I am astounded at how many bags it came in. The 48 items I received came in no less than 29 bags.
Anyway, all I'm trying to say is, fill the bag. Please. I don't have to carry it from the store to my car and from my car to the house. My delivery guys is pretty strong looking, and I'm thinking he can handle the extra weight per bag ratio I'm suggesting. You can ask him, I bet he won't mind.

P.S. A bag recycling program wouldn't be a bad idea either. I'd be happy to give you all 29 bags back if you wanted to refill them again. You're coming to my house anyway. It saves me from dealing with them. It saves you the money. And it saves the environment. What more could you ask for?

Did they ever respond to you? I always get paper bags at the store - the plastic bags drive me crazy.
