Much Ado About Something Quite Wonderful

Well, it started with a test. Then at 10 weeks there was a threatened miscarriage, and a diagnoses of a Subchorionic Hematomae. At 18 weeks there was a Choroid Plexus Cyst. At 35 weeks there was low fluid levels. Finally, at 38 weeks and 6 days, there was an angel.

Allison Rose Russell was born 5 lbs 11.5 oz and 19". She was worth all the wait and all the aforementioned "Ado". The boys love her. Alex asks to hold her all the time. Conner sounds the alarm every time she makes the slightest noise, and he loves to find her nose and pat her gently. They are very caring big brothers, and she is so lucky to have them.

There is a rare moment just now, where Alex is in a car with grandma and grandpa on the way home from the beach, Conner is in bed asleep, and Paul and I are alone with our new addition. Things are momentarily calm and it is a lovely evening.

So many of you helped us out while I was on and off of bed rest, light duty, etc. Some drove from hours away, others hopped a plane to help while Paul was travelling, some sent way too much fudge which I ate all by myself in a very short amount of time. (Is it okay to get all of your extra nursing calories from one source?) Still others just chatted with me online or in emails or over dinner, and constantly assured me that this baby was going to be okay. Look at us now!

I can't thank you all enough.

The Big Day

Okay everyone, tomorrow's the big day. Baby Girl Russell will be "evicted" tomorrow and we will finally get to meet our favorite little trouble-maker in person. We're very excited and we will send an email with news, name, and pictures just as soon as we have all that. - Christine
